So you need to browse JVM cable websites using Firefox, here is how to do it:
# apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-fonts
The following NEW packages will be installed:
gsfonts-x11 java-common odbcinst1debian1 sun-java6-bin sun-java6-jre
unixodbc xutils-dev 103MB

# find / -name libjavaplugin_oji.so
The path for the plugins may not always be this one I recomend to
search for it doing: find / -name firefox
# cd /usr/lib/firefox-addons/plugins
Now we make a Symbolic lynk to java.
# ln -s /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.06/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so
Restart Firefox and it should now work!
Note:
It may stop working if you Update Java.
In that case do :
# find / -name libjavaplugin_oji.so
and update the link to the new location.
If it dosent work, try also:
# update-java-alternatives -s java-6-sun
and link:
# libjavaplugin.so -> /etc/alternatives/firefox-javaplugin.so
Try checking in firefox: about:config (anything related to java)
