CES Centreon Enterprise Server

I tired the Standard 2.0 64bits (October 31st 2012)

Today I tested the CES server I was kind of disappointed to find out that
it does not have all Centreon cool tools pre-installed, I guess its also a funny
name “Enterprise Standard”, hum…
There is no “Enterprise Complete” .iso available on the website, maybe that one
would be the real thing. I was disappointed to see it does not even have
the latest Centreon (2.3.9)pre-installed. or latest CentOS 6.x .
It’s nice that it has a .iso where you can boot from, but the idea is not new
at all, check FAN – FullAutomatedNagios at http://felipeferreira.net/?p=224

Facts:
ces-standard-2.0-x86_64.iso
Does not come with:
Centreon Engine
Centreon Broker
Centreon BAM
Centreon BI
Centreon MAP
*Supposed a “Complete Edition” has it but its not available for downloading.

It does have:
CentOS 5.X (64bits)
Centreon – 2.2.12 (current 2.3.9)
centreon-clapi – 1.1.0 (current 1.4.0)
Syslog Module – 1.3.3 (current 1.4.1)
Nagios 3.2.3 – 3.2.3 (current 3.4.1)

Quick setup:

1.Download CES from site http://www.centreon.com/Content-Download/download-centreon-enterprise-server
2.Create VM (disk LSA) paravirtual is not detected
3.Configure Networks
4.yum -y update, reboot
5.enter web http://server/centreon user:admin pass:centreon
6.Fixes:
ln -s /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/x86_64-linux-thread-multi/RRDs.pm /usr/lib/perl5/RRDs.pm

7. update to latest centreon 2.3.9
./install -u /etc/centreon
Logo:
/usr/share/nagios/html/images/logos
Problem with PEAR Upgrade, had to set Proxy:
# pear config-set http_proxy http://infoproxybkp:8080
Upgrade OK,

8. In Web interface Install Modules
Administration>Modules>Actions> ‘install module’

9. Import .CFG’s
Configuration>Nagios>Load Import
Order:
misccommands.cfg (did not work)
contacts.cfg,contactgroups.cfg,checkcommands.cfg,timeperiods.cfg
serviceTemplates.cfg, hostsTemplates.cfg
hosts.cfg,hostsgroup.cfg, services.cfg, servicesgroup.cfg

Problems/Solution found :
1. No data on Centreon only Nagios, pooler Ndo2db not started by default:
Solution: # service ndo2db start
2. Graph’s do not work:
Solution: # service centstorage start
3. How to Import ACL? (DB tables have changed from 2.10 to 2.3.9 ? )
4. How to Import Graphs ? I have done it in the past moving the .rrd files and DB files would it work?
5. Few BUGs(9) open check it at: http://forge.centreon.com/projects/centreon-enterprise/issues?set_filter=1&tracker_id=1

Manual things still to try to do :

1. Install Centreon Broker, Centreon Engine, MKLiveStatus Brooker, Centreon BAM, Centreon BI

It’s been renamed to “Configuration > Monitoring Engines” to better reflect the support for different engines (Icinga, Nagios, Centreon-Broker….).

  1. No trackbacks yet.
