Setup HP Insight Manager on VMWare ESX 4
1. Download the file:

For ESX/ESXi  3.5

2. Copy it to the ESX server using the tool WinSCP to /tmp
3. Uncompress and install software
Inside the ESX
# mv /tmp hpmgmt-8.3.1-vmware4x.tgz /usr/local
# cd /usr/local
# tar -zxvf hpmgmt-8.3.1-vmware4x.tgz
This should create two folders ( ./hpmgmt and ./hpmgmt/831 )
# cd /hpmgmt/831

# bash install831vibs.sh –install
4. Check the installation
# service hp-snmp-agents status
# snmpwalk -v 1 localhost -c public enterprises | grep hp
Check the SNMP community  name inside the snmpd.conf
